Serving Kids Clothing Program

A Clothing Program for Students of Jeffco Schools
Sometimes the greatest problem a student has at school isn't academic
. . . A teacher notices that one of her students is wearing clothing
several sizes too small for her. Self-conscious and unable
to concentrate on school work, the child is often teased. The
teacher refers this student to Serving Kids, where she is given several
day's worth of clothing. The girl's grades and attention span
improve dramatically . . . and so does her self-confidence!
What is Serving Kids?
When students lack appropriate or warm clothing to
wear to school, the Serving Kids Clothing program steps
in to help. The Serving Kids program provides near new clothing,
shoes, coats, hats, and gloves to Jeffco school children who are
in need. The program is sponsored by a coalition of the
Jeffco Public Schools associations: The Jefferson Foundation,
JCAA (administrators), JCEA (teachers), CSEA (classified employees),
JPTA (parents), and (JCU) Jeffco Credit Union.
Support comes from grants, individuals, schools, departments,
and organizations who have given monetary and clothing donations
How Can I Request Clothing for a Child?
Clothing requests must be made by a Jeffco employee. Parents
cannot make the request.
- Download the Clothing Request Form located in the top left
corner of this page. ( If you have used the program before,
please download and use the NEW FORM.)
- Complete ONE order form PER
STUDENT. (We serve Jeffco Schools students preschool
through 12th grade.)
- Fill out ALL information requested on the form, and be very specific
about sizes, quantity (we have limits), gender, and type of clothing,
coats, shoes, underwear, etc. (Underwear, socks, and bras will be new.
Shoe gift certificates are available.) We like to know preferences on
style, color, etc. However, if we do not have the specific style
requested, we will select a substitute.
- Fax the form to (303) 278-2343.
- Allow one week for processing.
- You will be called by a volunteer when the order is filled
and ready to be picked up.
- Pick up the order at the Manning Option School main office during school
hours, preferably 9 AM - 2 PM. Manning Option School: (32nd and
Alkire) 13200 W. 32nd Ave., Golden, CO 80401.
