Holiday Greeting Giveaway

Watch for your JCAA Holiday Card. One card has twelve signatures by JCAA's current president (if you aren't sure who that is, you'll have to navigate the web site to research the name). If YOU have the card with the JCAA president's signature 12 times, bring it to the JCAA office for a $15 JCAA Gift Certiicate.

Happy holidays from JCAA!

Bruce Wellman Training Cancellation

In light of the increasing priorities for administrator time, the CCIRA State Reading Conference, and the fact that Facility Usage implementation will be another pressing concern for the date this presentation was scheduled - out of respect for the membership and their sanity, this presentation (originally scheduled for Feb 5, 2010) is cancelled.

Interview Workshop Signup Reminder

Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 4 to 6 in the Ed Center Room 3a and 3b.

JCAA is offering a workshop on tips for interviewing in Jefferson County. This isn't your typical job interview workshop - it is facilitated by Jim Baker, Cindy Whitlock, Kate Wills and Tony Giurado and it's packed full of useful information on navigating the Jeffco Culture, preparing for interviews, and framing answers to interview questions.

This is highly recommended for anyone considering moving into a building based, or professional/technical administrator role.

Cost is $15 for JCAA members, and $45 for non-members.

LEO (Leadership Experience Opportunity) Update

16 participants and their mentors will be meeting January 5, 2010 for what has become a highlight of the LEO Program - Speed interviews. In Speed Interviews, each participant rotates through 8 interviewers each with their own interview question. Each question takes two minutes to answer with two minutes of feedback from the interviewer.

So who are the interviewers - folks like Community Superintendents, Executive Directors of School Management, Principals and heads of central departments. It's a great way for participants to meet many of the people they will be encountering as they work through the Jeffco culture.

Thank you to all the mentors, interviewers and panelists that give their time to make this a meaningful experience!
