2009-10 Collegial Conversation Series

Collegial Conversations is a mentor / networking program designed to meet the needs of school-based and central administrators with all experience levels.

Groups meet monthly to discuss specific topics of concern to administrators in carrying out their duties--not only nuts and bolts responsibilities, but also leadership and management issues, as well as gaining a greater understanding of the district's organizational systems. Groups are forming now. Past group facilitators have been:

• Group A (Elementary Level) Facilitated by Barb Boillot and Robin Weikel
• Group B (Elementary Level) Facilitated by Warren Blair, Kathy Krieger, Becky Nelsen and Martha Tate
• Group C (Secondary Level) Facilitated by Kathy Norton and Patty DeLorenzo

If you would be interested in joining a Collegial Conversations group, we are investigating starting a Group D and maybe a Group E for areas not currently geographically served by Collegial Conversations groups.

JCAA Year End Celebration Event

The 2008-2009 Year End Celebration is complete. If you weren't there, you missed a great show by Chicken Lips called "Laugh As Though Your Life Depended On It". The 2008-2009 officers and area reps were recognized, and the 2009-2010 officers and area reps elected in this Spring's elections were installed.

Retirees were recognized in a new way this year. In addition to an engraved pen/pencil set, guests were encouraged to autograph framed photographs of the Retirees. There was also a brochure with fun facts about each retiree and their future plans to help us all recognize where they've come from and where they're headed. If you combine all their years of service, this year's 17 retirees add up over 300 years of Jeffco service.

Those in attendance were asked for input about future Year End Celebrations.

In the afternoon, JCAA hosted the annual golf tournament and social at Fox Hollow. Thirteen teams signed up to enjoy the competition, teamwork and camaraderie.

As a service to members, JCAA sends out Care, Concern, and Celebration messages to keep members connected and supported.

If you have a concern or celebration or you know a JCAA colleague in need of support, please let the JCAA office know.

We always check with the person to make sure it's okay to send out the message and we honor the member's wishes.
