JCAA Scholarship Program
JCAA awards a $1000 scholarship to a graduating son or daughter
of a JCAA general or emeritus member. The scholarship is provided
through the generous support of JCAA members. The JCAA scholarship
provides an opportunity to recognize the achievements of our
colleagues' children and to demonstrate our commitment to
the future through continuing education.
This year, 2 of our applicants' scores were within 1% point
out of 400 total points possible. Therefore the decision was
made to grant a $1000 scholarship to both individuals.
Those individuals awarded the scholarship are Natalie
Berger, daughter of Steve Berger, and James
Peng, son of Bing Peng. Congratulations to
them both!
The JCAA Scholarship Selection Committee receives the applications
on an anonymous basis and each judge scores the applications
independently based on set criteria. All personal identifying
information is removed before they read the applications.
The scores from each judge are added together and normally
the scholarship goes to the student with the highest aggregate
score. However, this year, 2 scholarships were awarded to
the students with the 2 highest aggregate scores.
