JCAA Spring Issues Forums

Please RSVP no later than Friday, April 1 by clicking here or calling Mary Wagner at (303) 982-6839, opt. 3 to attend one of the three area breakfast meetings this spring. The Issues Forums are held each fall and spring as an opportunity for members to gather and discuss and problem-solve key issues facing the leadership of the district. The topics of discussion this spring are:

  • Supporting Administrative Staff Development and Training: How can JCAA and the district better support administrative learning and meet the specific skills and knowledge base requirements of the various job levels, including building based and central based?
  • School Choice and Program Options: What do we believe about choice? What type of programs do you have in place at your school which might be appealing to parents looking for options and school choice? How do you communicate with parents in your area regarding program options and opportunities you offer at your neighborhood school? How do we manage choice?
  • Open Forum for Raising Issues to Be Addressed by the JCAA Board: Participants share and record issues in small group settings, which they feel the JCAA Board should address.

The meeting and full breakfast buffet are complimentary for members. There is a cost for nonmembers. The meetings are 7:30 - 9:30 AM and include time for networking during breakfast. Members are welcome to attend the meeting which works best for their schedule. Meeting options are:

Part 1: Nominations forms were sent out the beginning of March to all general level members. The form is an opportunity for general members to nominate Board representatives. The JCAA officer positions up for election are JCAA President-Elect, Elementary Level Liaison, and Middle Level Liaison. In certain areas, Board representative positions are up for election. Nomination forms are due April 1, 2005. The final slate of candidates is selected by the JCAA officers who serve as the Nominating Committee for the association.

Part 2: Committee List: Also on the form is a request to list the district-wide and JCAA committees on which each member served during 2004-05.
