Employee Support Programs

JCAA Conflict Support Policy: In accordance with our bylaws and current practice, the association works for continued improvement in employment conditions for administrators in the Jefferson County Public School District at the school building and central services level by unifying the efforts of all educational leaders, influencing the direction of the district, and supporting administrators through representation, networking and professional development. Employee Assistance Program: The JCAA president and executive director serve on the Employee Assistance Program Steering Committee. EAP provides a positive, constructive way to help employees resolve personal and work related problems through assessment, short term counseling, referral to community resources, consultations for supervisors about troubled employees or work teams, training, and conflict resolution / mediation. Employee Relations: The Employee Relations Department offers a number of services, including:

  • Advise district leadership, administrators and supervisors regarding interpretation and implementation of negotiated agreements and district policies,
  • Collaborate with employee associations to reach mutually acceptable resolutions regarding employee performance, separation, due process rights, contract application and interpretation,
  • Advise district leadership and Jeffco School Board on successor agreements with employee associations.
  • Other services include system development, legal compliance, and information management.

PERA: Public Employees Retirement Association membership is mandatory by state law, in lieu of participation in the Social Security system, and provides benefits in addition to retirement benefits.

Educational Equity Office: Equity is a commitment of Jeffco Schools to promote and value diversity and to support students teachers, administrators, and the community to insure a quality educational opportunity for all students and employees with equal access, equal opportunity, fair treatment policy and practice, equitable results, and outcomes.

Employee Recognition Program: JCAA representatives serve on the Employee Recognition Program, which includes the Values Awards Program and Reception.
