Charitable Services
Serving
Kids Clothing Program:
Serving Kids is a program sponsored by the Jeffco Public Schools'
employee associations, the Jeffco PTA, the Jeffco Credit Union, and The Jefferson Foundation,
working together to make new and near new clothing items available
to Jefferson County Public School students in need. To receive
these services, a student must be referred by a Jefferson County
School District employee. The employee fills out the clothing
request form and faxes it to the Serving Kids Program for the
order to be filled. For questions regarding the program, call
the SK voice mail number at (303) 982-2225. The fax number is
(303) 278-2343. Click

Good News Breakfast Celebration
Coalition: JCAA is a member of the Good News Coalition and a sponsor for the breakfast.
The Coalition brings Jefferson County citizens together to celebrate
the positive happenings and spiritual values that link our diverse
communities. Each year we celebrate the good news in Jefferson
County at a breakfast. This year's breakfast was Tuesday, April
28, 2009, 6:59 AM - 8:29 AM at The Jefferson County Fairgrounds,
15200 W. 6th Ave. Golden, CO. The theme was, "Seniors on the Move." For more information, go to www.goodnewsjeffco.com.
Helping
Kids Thrive: JCAA is a cosponsor of the Helping Kids
Thrive Program, started in 1990 by a coalition of community organizations
who were concerned about the high incidence of youth suicide in
Jefferson County and the prevalence of other destructive behaviors,
such as drug/alcohol abuse and youth violence. Helping Kids Thrive
is an annual series of free parenting workshops. The purpose of
the workshops is to provide hands-on, practical information that
parents and other adults can use to help children grow in positive
ways. Participants gain insight as to why life is easier for some
kids and not for others, why some kids involve themselves in dangerous
activities and others avoid them, why some ‘beat the odds’
and others don't. Click
